They are going to use a lot of cad and big screen will help minimize the zooming in-out that can be very tiresome. Software : If on a budget, SketchUp for conceptual, and Autocad Lite for drafting. If budget isn't a problem, try going for R! evit, Full Version Autocad, plus 3ds Max (or Cinema4D) + Vray ! (or Maxwell) for presentation. Plus a SketchUp for quick mock up model.
