Graphic Design or Games Design?

Gabriel Realmuto: I think both Graphic Design and Games Design offer good employment opportunities. What you need to get those jobs is experience. Unless you're designing games on your own, I think it will be difficult if not impossible to land that first job that's requiring 2+ years experience. Landing your first graphic design job might be a bit easier with a good school record and portfolio.Then there's continuing education. As a graphic artist, you'd have to keep your skills up as the software that supports those jobs might change. Compare that to how fast technology is moving and how much you'd have to keep up with in the games industry. Just food for thought....Show more
