car audio at home?

Lewis Ranft: all you need is a voltage converter like you said and put the door speakers in some kind of box and you ready to go, i have a set up like this except i use 6x9 al the way around

Toby Caswell: you can do it, but its not going to sound as good in your dormcar stuff is designed for closed space, you're gonna be disappointed with the result. the only thing you can do is maybe put your speakers in a home speaker enclosure, that might bump for ya...Show more

Gilberto Cratin: Absolutely. My friends and I did this in college. We hooked up a car stereo, amp and speakers to a car battery and kept the battery charged with a battery charger. It worked great except it's sort of dangerous.

Erin Arron: Sure it can be done. But your going to have to get a more than just a simple cheap plug in the wall voltage converter. Your going to need a a actual power supply that is pushing enough amps to handle all of your electronic needs. Or as mentioned you could tr! y running car batteries. A nice deep cycle like a yellow top Optima would probable work. But for how long of continuous use who knows how long it will last till your recharging the battery....Show more

Nikki Sypult: High amperage power supplies will set you back some major $$$Just for 25 amps it's $100.
