Gordon Showes: Ron's suggestion is pure garbage. Plus, it's lucky if it puts out 10 watts per channel. No decent quality sound system has a receiver with a built in disc player. You want 'best' and 'cheapest'. You do understand that those are opposite characteristics, right ? You can have cheap, which will be crappy, or you can have good, which can be reasonably priced, but won't be 'cheap'.To do a proper job, you need a budget of about $400, which is actually a small cost for a ! decent system. $200 buys you a quality audio receiver (Like a Pioneer 522K, or a Yamaha 375), which you would then feed your computer's audio into, and the other $200 buys you a quality 5.1 speaker set, such as the Polk 6750 set.Look on Amazon.com and Newegg.com, and consider your options. Also, make sure that the receiver has sufficient inputs for all the gear that you wish to hook up to it. This is an added area where the all-in-one systems really suck....Show more
Mee Blumenfeld: Your going to need a 5.1 sound card in order for the speakers to work in 5.1.....
