How many people are severely interested in green living?

Mitsuko Manne: i am . www.himinsun.com

Foster Padgette: There's interested and then there's capable of changing their livelihoods. Most people are bound by their jobs and where they can afford to work and live. This limits their contributions to perhaps using public transit, insulating their homes, choosing local produce, purchasing products made with recycled materials ( recycling bins isn't recycling, buying recycled products is ). Very few people have a job where they can choose to live in a remote earthship far from a business centre. The norm is where the people are because few can afford to live any differently, and if they did then how would the world function?I think you have an idealistic idea of what you can expect the majority of people to be able to do and you're trying to denigrate everyone else other than yourself for the state of the world. Work first at structuring your own life to be "green" before counting the numbers....Show more

Rau! l Lushbaugh: @John W: Whoever said that I was trying to denigrate anybody for not being green. I completely know and understand why making some sacrifices associated with green living would be too big a pill to swallow for most people. I'm just curious in knowing how many people actually make their honest best effort (even if it's only a little) to live a green lifestyle. It's more about statistics than it is about ranting and forcing people to convert. I just need the statistic is all.
