Alexandria Popik: It means commitment. It's the cornerstone of a family unit. Children deserve a mother and a father that love each other and are committed to each other and the family. They protect the children. Divorce destroys children's lives. It leaves them so vulnerable to mistreatment and abuse. Any psychologist/psycho therapist, psychologist worth anything will attest to this fact. Marriage has always been something you can walk away from if you do not want to participate, BUT ;When things are bad it acts as an invisible tether, a commitment between two people that recalls better times and stops impulsive acts due to arguments. It bungi co! rds a couple together helping them to get over the not so good times.For "40% end up in divorce", might the number be higher without a marriage and of those 40% and how many of those want to get married again? As a side note, I have two aunts now 63 who have both managed successful partnerships for 30 years. For them marriage was not important and their bond is probably as strong if not stronger because of it. Laveta Fathy: I think with this generation they cheat more and they dont care as much. It is truely hard to find a guy/girl that is loyal nowdays.
Leif Andreason: To me, it means a great deal. However, there are far too many people in this world that don't feel its something spe! cial anymore. Its just something they take for granted and fee! l they can treat as every other document they shred.

People do not think about the future. I really dont wanna waste my time and money in the future to get a divorce more people should think about it as something more then signing a piece of paper
