Laundry sorting?

Janeen Perona: ok if you have all the time in the world you can do all that sorting. I don't so I do whites, colors, and towels and sheets. A good rule of thumb for colors is if you have a new black or red article of clothing to only wash them with like colors the first time or two because they are most likely to bleed and stain other clothes. For temps, I use hot/cold for my whites and towels and dry on high heat because those are the articles of clothing most likely to carry bacteria. For colors I use cold water detergent and try to wash on cold/cold becaue they are less likely to bleed or shrink in cold water. I then use medium heat to dry and sometimes I take them out still damp and hang dry them the rest of the way. Also I have always dried my jeans in the dryer and have always had them last just fine.Regular bleach is fine as there is no special laundry bleach. You can find it in the laundry isle at your local supermarket. Also if you are really picky as I am ! you can get colorsafe bleach for your colors. You don't need a lot of bleach for it to work. If you use to much it will turn your whites yellow. I also don't recommend using a lot of fabric softener on your towels it takes away the fluffiness. Good luck on doing your laundry!...Show more

Joeann Hoyt: I usually just seperate them into white, dark and light colors. It is better to hang jeans up because the fabric it is made of wears out in the drier. Also if you are washing jeans or red clothes for the first time. Put them into a bucket of cold water with quite a bit of salt before you put them in the washing machine. The salt locks the color into the clothes so you dont lose as much color during your first washes. It keeps the color of the clothes from fading as quickly. Once you have done this you must waash them seperately or you are going to dye your other clothes. But after the first wash you can wash them like normal with all your other clothes. Hope yo! u find this helpful. God bless....Show more

Estrella No! rthway: Oh and if you want to put bleach on your whites can you use regular bleach or do you have to use special laundry bleach?
