Anything about vegetarians?

Charline Granes: Whats so funny? Really I think I'm missing something here.No nothing bad happens to vegetarians because of not eating meat. The obvious thing it does for animals to help them is reduces the number that have to be killed for food. Yes I'm a vegetarian and have been for 11 years and I'm still healthy and kicking. What kind of stories do you mean? We're just like everyone else and have normal lives we just cut out meat from our diet....Show more

Chi Alfero: People feel weak all the time; feeling weak isn't some vegetarian phenomenon. A meat eater can be sick every few months and think nothing of it. The second a vegetarian gets a cold all the meaties are running out to tell them that they need meat or they will die.lolI know tons of meat eaters who have no energy to clean, go for walks, garden etc. etc.. They take naps all the time and they are too tired to go out on a Friday night. Is this because of their diet? Well... probably, but they would pr! efer to think we are the ones not eating the right things. :)________________Anyway, eat a balance of foods. If you are eating enough calories per day of a variety of vegetarian/vegan foods, then you have more than enough protein. "What You Should Eat Every Day on a Vegetarian Diet. * 3 or 4 servings of cereals/grains or potatoes * 4 or 5 servings of fruit and vegetables * 2 or 3 servings of pulses, nuts & seeds * 2 servings of milk, cheese, eggs or soya products * A small amount of vegetable oil and margarine or butter. * Some yeast extract such as Marmite, fortified with vitamin B12, or nutritional yeast. "_____Here is some more detailed info.http://www.vegsoc.org/info/basic-nutrition.htmlGood luck...Show more

Monica Voltin: You can make a nice peanut butter sauce with it. Just put it in a small pan with some peanut butter, maybe a little oleo, and stir over low heat until you get the desired amount and consistency. Pour it over rice with a lit! tle soy sauce. It's great with sauteed tofu or tempeh - maybe! chopped jalapenos if you like. http://allrecipes.com//Recipes/everyday-cooking/ve...Or you could try it on your cereal. Good luck!...Show more

Len Dalba: Nothing bad has happened...Life has been way better since I went from meat eaterto vegan. I feel better physically and in the head.I'm not constantly tired anymore which is awesome.I'm assuming you're a troll that used a badtranslator on google maybe?...Show more

Myron Leftwich: arent' they high in carbs? gas probs are usually the result of digestive problems but I know it's a mineral thing with vegtables.

Edmund Rappley: From actually eating fiber. Then again, if you ate just as much fiber as a meat eater, you would have the same amount. It's a weird trade off of having more gas, but having less smelly gas. Your "gas" is made primarily of methane (primarily from plant digestion) and sulfa (primarily from meat digestion). Methane doesn't really have a smell, but sulfa (think of sulfer) has a strong s! mell. As a vegetarian, your days of SBD's are gone... but you gain an even more interesting ability... to bust *** in a crowd and not have anyone complain of a smell. As for fixing it, there are over the counter pills like bean-o and gas-x, or you could just kick it old school and excuse yourself to the bathroom to let one out...your choice....Show more

Frank Crummell: Your body will get used to it. Give it another 3-6 months. Took me a year. You could try a colon cleanse to speed up the process.

Frederick Mccoach: Drink peppermint tea and/or chew on anise seeds after eating. Upon waking, drink a large glass of water and stretch/exercise regularly (it'll get the gas out). Not all vegos have this problem - I don't - and I know enough people who aren't vego who fart a lot (and smell rather bad) so maybe it's got to do with your particular foodstuffs and how they are prepared and possibly with your physiology. Make sure you always wash your legumes, beans and ric! e very well before cooking and avoid things like cabbage in large quant! ities. I have gotten gas from eating packaged beans, TVP and dried falafel mix and I think it had something to do with the way the foods were processed and whether the raw ingredients were washed properly. Foods I make by myself from scratch will rarely cause me or any of my family members gas....Show more

Antonia Mogg: Hey guys, I am not trying to be funny, I am a proud vegetarian myself, but why is it that when I became vegetarian 6 months ago I started to have more gas than usual?? Is there any way to fix this problem?? All advice will help! Any cruel or meat-pro remarks will be reported as spam and offencive language.

Indira Wassell: Why the "Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!"? Nothing you said is funny. Actually you are kid of sad really

Burt Stoecklin:

Marcia Cheathan: A single vegetarian saves somewhere around 50 animals a year. And there are many of us so yes, it does save a lot of animals. I've been a vegetarian for over a year and i have a st! ronger immune system than ever. NOthing bad has happened to me. IN fact, eating meat ups your chances of getting food poisoning (eating spoiled meat, etc).

Dominic Sciancalepore: i'm going to guess more complete proteins. things like tofu, peanut butter, and beans contain most if not all your essential amino acids.it may not be palatable all the time, you may get tired of the limited diet, and (in the case of beans) there may be some undesired side-effects, but there's sacrifice to being a vegetarian.i'm not sure if you're going to get all your essential amino acids from stuff like veggie burgers and salad....Show more

Ignacio Imbier: what is with the "Hahahahahhahaha"? Are you mentally ill?? :( Perhaps see a doctor. :(But anyway.I am vegan. I went vegetarian when I was 12 and now almost 8 yrs later I am vegan (and have been for 6 months).Perfectly fine w/o any supplements. so nothing bad happens to us.It does help animals. Supply and Demand. Also I feel I help a! nimals by knowing that no animals are being subjected to pain and tortu! re just so I can eat....Show more

Valentine Michaud: Sure glad I'm not your cat.Try: http://www.bluediamond.com/index.cfm?navid=33Funny, I'm an omnivore and I like almond milk way better the regular milk.Good luck.

Derrick Kloke: Basically I bought a carton of Almond Milk just to give it a try, and as it turns out I really don't like it. There's no way I'm going to throw it out but I want a way to use it up quickly. Do you have any vegan recipes for something like cake, cup cakes, or ice cream (anything really) that uses a significant amount of almond milk? I'm happy to buy other ingredients for it. Thanks in advance. :)

Melissa Lavallie: vegiterians are good sumtimes bad happens to gud people they save many bunny rabbits

Hong Hunkin: They need to make sure that they are eating enough protein. Bananas, soy beans, soy milk, nuts (almonds, peanuts, pecans) and seeds (pumpkin, flax, sunflower) are good sources of protein. If they are vegetarian and no! t vegan (no animal protein), they should include fish, eggs and milk to their diet.

German Thal: Peanut Butter Banana Smoothie1 frozen banana1 cup almond milk1 tbsp honey (substitute or the real thing)2 tbsp of peanut butterblend & enjoy. It is extremely filling and is a great breakfast/lunch substitute. You can 86 the peanut butter and just have a banana smoothie. You can use the almond milk in oatmeal or blend whatever fruits you have on hand to make great smoothies. Smoothies made with almond milk taste soo much better than soy or reg. milk even if you do not care for almond milk...Show more

Randall Twehous: I'm a vegetarian and nothing has happened to me hahaIt helps animals from NOT dyeing and being eaten.I love vegetarians! :)No stories haha i've been one for a year and a half now :Dand perfectly healthy (:

Tosha Tawney: Vegetarians have more gas because the food that you eat designs a perfect gassy effect in your body. Carbs such as bread, pasta, rice,! & crackers are what causes air pockets, which causes us to burp and pas! s gas. Obviously vegetarians eat non-meat food items, thus making the gas situation more clear. As soon as you can stop eating those carbs, the gas will go away.

Marita Stadick: Ok so I am a vegetarian and bad things dont happen to us. And yes it does help animals because if enough people stop eating animals people will stop murdering them.

Coleman Deliberato: Protein.

Donella Vasta: I'm a vegan, so I don't eat any form of animal parts and nothing bad has happened to me.There are a lot of vegan and vegetarian athletes and body builders, it's fine for your health. All vegans need is B12.It helps the animals because they won't be bred and then kept in cages and killed. It helps them because they won't feel the fear and pain when they're being killed. It'll help them because they'll be able to live in natural sized groups in the wild.It helps humans because vegetarians use less land and water than meat eaters do to provide their diet, and vegans use just 5%.I! n Argentina right now, they can't grow wheat and vegetables for their own people because they have to grow crops to sell to Europe and China for the farm animal feed.If everyone didn't buy meat, and payed the money for fair trade fruit and vegetables, the economy in those countries would boost considerably and there would be an abundance of food.No meat = more land = less babies die of starvation.Edit: to guy below, more land = cheaper farming = more food in poorer countries. My grandmother is a farmer, I have experience of what it's like trying to keep a business running. The world will never be perfect, but it can be a whole lot better. Not trying isn't going to solve anything. What a terrible excuse to be lazy....Show more

Noah Deni: edamame & B-12

Nona Lentini: everyone in my family are vegetarianseven my grandparents and everyone is finebeing a vegetarian is often times healthier for youalso it helps the environment not just because less animals are killedwe l! ose 10% of the possible energy when we eat a cow instead of the crops

Minh Lefrancois: not sure if all of these are vegan but check out http://recipeland.com/recipes/almond-milkjust google search "using almond milk in vegan recipes" that's all I did and it came up with many recipes using almond milk. Also http://www.recipepuppy.com/?i=almond%20milk&q=vega... tons of vegan recipes with almond milk in them...Show more

Emerita Sciandra: It could be a lack of B complex which can be consumed without any flesh, but if the person is ignorant, they will not consume all the vitamins and minerals necessary to maintain the body at its best. Supplements for both vitamins and minerals should be taken by all, for the ground has been greatly depleted of its nutritional value. Some mineral deficiencies can also cause this. Blackstrap molasses and rice and beans or soy products can help to take up the slack. A plant based diet was chosen for our first parents in the garden in Eden (read Gen 1-2), and it was not until the flood came that man was! allowed to eat flesh for you can not grow a garden in a flood (read Gen 7 and 9). We should do that which is best for our bodies, therefore it is wisest to eat a plant based diet....Show more

Betsey Muehlbach: likely protein, but possibly iron too. check out this website for ideas on where veggies and vegans can get their iron, protein, and other important nutrients (under "essential nutrients"): http://goveg.com/optimal_vegan_nutrition.aspand by the way evina, red meat has been linked to at least colon cancer and breast cancer. it is NOT part of a healthy diet.

Joan Stavropoulos: i'm a vegetarian, a the only difference is that i have to take an iron supplement. it doesn't really "help" animals, but at least you know that your are having an impact. there aren't really any stories, it's just not eating meat, i can still go to most restaurants, this includes fast food places.

Marcellus Yoshimori: Vegetarians usually eat more vegetables and beans, so it's t! he fiber.

Gaynell Pizzaro: Vegetarians and vegans have normal lev! els of gas, its people that dont that should be worried about thier unusual lack of it.It is also not specifically caused by fiber. Its caused by mircroorganisms.Within the human body at many places there is bacteria, normally they help us with various tasks, its a symbiotic relationship.Within the our digestive system the bacteria is specifically know as gut flora. there are things in our food that are processed by our gut flora not our digestive system itself.passing gas is a sign of a fully functioning gut flora. eating a heavilly acidic deat like most meat consuming diets are often can upset the gut flora and encourage other types of bacteria to inhabit the system rather than the normal benefical types.excersise is a good way to deal with it, it can get rid of it when your not around people :)...Show more

Lashawn Zabarkes: Protein is the best thing you can do for strength and energy. Mushrooms, Broccoli, Milk, tofu etc. can provide that for your body. If you want m! ore info on food that has protien, I'd go to www.mypyramid.gov, it's got some great info...

Douglass Sarley: eat more green vegies. low iron can cause u 2 b weak

Troy Monsivais: the fiber and simply changing your diet in any significant way may give you gas. when my uncle stopped being a vegetarian the meat did disasterous things to his digestive system. same when my brother ate macaroni and cheese for like 2 weeks straight

Jasper Mangel: Some sort of protein, such as tofu, beans, etc. Plus they should be taking a vitamin B-12 supplement, as you can only find vitamin B-12 in meat.

Nikita Schroepfer: Beans?

Darcie Peraha: Nothing bad's happened to me. I became a Vegetarian a year and a half ago, and since gained about 3 inches in height, lifted weights, & run a 7-minute mile. Obviously being a Vegetarian helps animals. Less people consuming their flesh= Less raised to slaughter. It's also better for the ecosystem as a whole, since less farmlan! d is used to sustain people, and more is forest. And less methane-produ! cing Cows are raised, which reduces global warming. What do I say about vegetarians? I say it's an intelligent, compassionate, humane thing to do, and I feel to be a better man for it.Stories? Well I've certainly gotten diverse reactions. I try not to be forceful about it, and some people are cool with it, and others make fun of you. Either way, I'm a healthier person for it....Show more

Nell Dipiero: It's totally normal, more so for some people than others. When I have a veg diet or drink beer I get a lot of gas. I don't know the exact reason, and the only suggestion I have is to try Beano. I've never used it, so I don't know if it works. But having gas is not bad for your body, only socially awkward. Sorry!
